More clinical aspects of anatomy have been added throughout the book. The chapter on embryology has been removed, though synopses of embryological development that refer to specific organs have been included where suitable. In addition, developments in imaging techniques have involved substantial changes in the illustrations. The authors have tried to produce a book combining brevity and a methodical approach to the subject, by the describing structures in a consistent manner.
