How affiliate links work

Some book pages and reading-list results may include links to external retailers as another way to obtain the exact edition. Our initial book-page pilot focuses on books that are not available from a student seller on UniBookTrade. These retailer options are advertising and are marked Ad before you follow the link.

If you follow an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase,UniBookTrade may receive a commission from the retailer or its affiliate network. The retailer pays that commission; we do not add an affiliate fee to the retailer's checkout price.

Bookshop.org UK

When a Bookshop.org option appears, it is an affiliate link. If you buy books linked from UniBookTrade, we may earn a commission from Bookshop.org, whose fees support independent bookshops.

Our current Bookshop.org integration is link-only. We do not claim that Bookshop.org has a copy in stock or show a price from Bookshop.org; the retailer confirms the current price, availability, delivery, and edition details on its own website.

How retailer options are selected and ordered

• Priced offers are included only when the retailer's approved data identifies the same valid ISBN as the UniBookTrade book page. We do not treat a similar title or another edition as a match.
• New and used books, and books available now, on backorder, or for preorder, are identified separately where the retailer supplies that information.
• Comparable offers are ordered by availability and the provider-supplied book price plus standard shipping where that figure is known. Other charges can still apply at retailer checkout. A link without approved price data is shown only as an option to check the retailer and is not described as the cheapest offer.
• The commission rate does not determine the order of retailer options.

Coverage and changing information

Our retailer coverage is not exhaustive. We show only participating retailers for which we have an authorised link or data source. Prices, delivery charges, condition, availability, promotions, and delivery estimates can change after our stated check time. Please verify the ISBN, edition, total price, and delivery estimate on the retailer's website before ordering.

Purchases from external retailers

An external retailer—not UniBookTrade—is responsible for its product information, checkout, payment, fulfilment, customer service, returns, and refunds. UniBookTrade buyer protection and our returns policy apply only to purchases completed directly onUniBookTrade. An external purchase is governed by that retailer's terms and privacy policy.

Privacy and measurement

We measure retailer-option views and clicks in aggregate so we can evaluate whether the comparison is useful. Our dedicated comparison records contain the event type, ISBN, retailer, placement, number of offers where relevant, and time. They do not contain an account ID, session ID, IP address, user agent, or referrer. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
