Can I sell my CIMA books after passing?
Yes. CIMA objective tests run on demand all year, so there's no seasonal window - someone is always studying the paper you just passed. Kaplan editions are valid for one calendar year (printed on the book), and books hold their value best while their year is current. Listing on UniBookTrade is free.
Which CIMA edition do I need?
Kaplan (CIMA's only official publisher) issues one edition per calendar year, valid from 1 January to 31 December - the window is printed on the product page and cover. Match the edition year to the calendar year you'll sit the exam in.
Are older CIMA books still usable?
The qualification framework hasn't structurally changed since 2019 - the 2026 update added sustainability, generative AI and cost-of-quality content under existing learning outcomes without removing anything. A one-year-old edition is workable if you fill those gaps from CIMA's free resources; pre-2025 editions miss progressively more of the new content.
What about case study (OCS/MCS/SCS) materials?
Case study exams run in four windows a year (February, May, August and November), and each pre-seen spans two consecutive windows - so materials bought for one window are often still current for the next. Check the pre-seen period before buying or selling case study kits.
