How We Protect Your Purchases

Buyer Protection

All purchases are protected by our buyer guarantee. If an item doesn't match the listing description, we'll help you get a refund.

Direct Communication

Contact sellers directly through our messaging system to resolve any issues before escalating to our support team.

Verified Sellers

All sellers are verified students or graduates, with ratings and reviews to help you buy with confidence.

14-Day Resolution Window

You have 14 days from delivery to report any issues with your purchase and request a return or refund.

When Returns Apply

Valid Return Reasons
  • Item significantly not as described in the listing
  • Wrong item received (different book, edition, or ISBN)
  • Item arrived damaged during shipping
  • Missing pages or components mentioned in the listing
  • Counterfeit or reproduction when listed as genuine
Not Eligible for Return
  • Changed your mind about the purchase
  • Found a cheaper price elsewhere
  • Minor wear consistent with the listed condition
  • Highlighting or notes that were disclosed in the listing
  • Delays caused by the postal service

How to Request a Return

Contact the Seller

Use our messaging system to explain the issue to the seller. Most problems can be resolved directly between buyer and seller.

Agree on a Resolution

Work with the seller to agree on a fair resolution - whether that's a partial refund, full refund, or return and refund.

Open a Dispute (if needed)

If you can't reach an agreement within 3 days, open a dispute through your order page. Our team will review the case.

Return the Item (if applicable)

If a return is agreed, ship the item back using a tracked service. Keep proof of postage until the seller confirms receipt.

Receive Your Refund

Once the return is confirmed or the dispute is resolved in your favour, we'll process your refund within 5-7 business days.

As a seller on UniBookTrade, you're responsible for:

  • Accurately describing your item's condition, including any damage, highlighting, or missing components
  • Uploading clear photos that represent the actual item
  • Responding to buyer messages within 3 days
  • Packaging items securely to prevent damage during shipping
  • Accepting returns for items that don't match your listing description
