Start a medical textbook listing with the ISBN and edition. Buyers may need a particular printing for their reading list, exam or placement, so “medical book in good condition” is not enough to identify a useful copy.
UBT is a marketplace: you choose an asking price and wait for a buyer. It is not a guaranteed buyback service. Compare the process with quote-based alternatives in our textbook website guide.
Identify the physical book
Find the ISBN near the back-cover barcode or copyright page. Record edition, publication year, publisher and format. If a handbook has multiple volumes or comes with another component, say exactly what is included.
The shelf checker can help identify several books. Check the returned details against your copies before carrying them into listings. Suggested prices are guidance, not offers to purchase.
Photograph what affects the buyer's decision
- Front and back covers, including the barcode.
- The edition and publication statement.
- Spine and any loose or damaged binding.
- Representative annotated pages.
- Included volumes or supplements.
Remove loose personal notes before photographing. Check that no patient information, placement documents or personal details are visible. Describe highlighting and defects honestly; missing pages need to be disclosed.
Choose an asking price for this edition
Compare currently listed medical books and other offers for the same ISBN. Account for condition and the buyer's complete delivered price, not just your original cover price. A new edition or change in course requirements can affect demand.
| Your copy | What to make clear |
|---|---|
| Current course edition | Exact ISBN and condition |
| Older edition | Edition and year; do not promise suitability |
| Annotated textbook | Extent and type of marking |
| Physical book with a digital code | Whether the code is unused and what the publisher permits |
| Incomplete set | Missing volumes or components |
Do not claim that an old clinical handbook contains current clinical guidance. Buyers should follow their course's current requirements. This guide is about resale, not clinical use.
List, then prepare to dispatch
Use UBT's selling process to add accurate details and photographs. Listing and selling have no seller commission. Once a buyer purchases, follow the prepaid shipping instructions shown on the order. Payout follows receipt confirmation or the order's automatic-release process; a listing alone does not trigger payment.
Keep the book available and check notifications so that a sale can be fulfilled. If you have disposed of the copy or sold it elsewhere, remove its listing.
For a book that is no longer suitable to sell, check the donation directory and the recipient's acceptance criteria. Do not assume a library or charity needs an outdated medical text.
Check your medical books or browse medicine. Buying instead? Read the used medical textbook guide.
