Can I use an older MRCP book?
Postgraduate membership exam prep has shifted heavily to online question banks, but the reference books still matter and trade actively second-hand - PasTest's Essential Revision Notes for MRCP is effectively a used-market-only item (long out of print, still recommended), and Best of Five question books run £25-£45 new. Edition currency is least important for pathophysiology and most important for guideline-driven topics.
Always double-check the edition against your exam sitting before buying. When in doubt, GMC's official syllabus documents are free and definitive.
