Can I use an older FLK1 book?
SQE prep books come from several publishers rather than one official pair: Revise SQE (Fink Publishing) subject guides at under £20 each, University of Law study manuals from £44.99, and OUP revision guides around £15 - plus BPP and Barbri materials. Editions refresh every one to two years as the law and the SRA's assessment specification move. A one-edition-old FLK1 guide (business law and practice, dispute resolution, contract, tort, the legal system, constitutional and administrative law, legal services) is broadly usable - the FLK is stable year to year - but always revise from the current SRA assessment specification, which is free, and check for major legal changes since your edition printed. Practice-question books age fastest and are the ones to buy most recent.
